Pieter-Jan Van Haecke – psychoanalyst
Do you feel stuck in the narrative you are writing? That certain patterns return beyond your control? That a sense of dissatisfaction follows you throughout your daily life? That bouts of anxiety hold you back?
I offer a space where you can speak freely, a confidential space beyond judgement and censure. My work is grounded in Freudian-Lacanian psychoanalytic theory which proceeds from the idea that our struggles have an unconscious root. Within this space, we aim to go beyond the symptom and embark on an exploration of what lies beneath their surface – thoughts, fantasies and so on.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from University of Ghent in Belgium. I specialized myself in psychoanalysis by completing an education program in Psychoanalytic therapy from a Freudian-Lacanian perspective. Therapy is available in English and Dutch. I offer online sessions and in-person sessions in Imabari.
I specialize in psychoanalysis with adults who experience relational difficulties, anxiety, depression, stress. In my practice, I also focus on working with individuals who face the challenges and tensions of living abroad, of living ‘in between’ – the difficulty of navigating a different culture, a different language, different interactional dynamics.
Embarking on a psychoanalytic process might feel like a big step. Yet, if something in this has resonated with you, you’re welcome to reach out. Do not hesitate to contact me to ask for more information or to arrange a first consulation – the price of the first consultation is fixed, yet the final price for ongoing therapy will be discussed during our initial meeting.
